Food & Wine, March 2009

Here are my picks from March 2009's issue of Food & Wine.
Did anybody else think the spread of The Twenty+ Best Healthy Recipes Ever was a little strangely colored? It went from white, to orange, to red, purple, green and finally to almost black. Interesting concept, but I thought the colors were a little too intense.

This post was sponsored and approved by Bad Kitty and Charlie. (And speaking of colors, I love the color palette of this pic! All my animals and furniture match.)

It makes me wonder which came first, the animals or the furniture. I keep my corgi in mind when I'm choosing furniture, carpets, clothes (especially pants and coats) and car interiors. She blows a coat every spring and there's hair everywhere. It seems a little better if it blends in.

Hi Betts - Cat came 1st, unbidden. Then allergies prevailed and we went all leather and tile. Brown dog and light tan dog came next. My closet is mostly shades of brown, I think the choice in animals and the choice in clothing were a concurrent evolution.

Hi Sara - That's what I'm here for :)

Umaminess. Hehehe. I'm definitely noting that pork chop one.

And your magazine matches too. Adorable.

Hi Melissa - Let me know how it turns out if you make it! The magazine matching was actually the reason I took the pic.

I made the chops and really loved them. The best part for me was discovering brined green peppercorns. I ate some plain and they were so good.

Probably won't blog about it as the pictures were far from my finest. I'll make it again though and take better shots.

Hi Melissa - I had a jar of green peppercorns once, used them one time, then the jar disappeared. Need to find more and make these chops!
