Should I Plant It?

I can't figure out what it is, but it looks like it's strongly interested in growing. I noticed I have onions growing in my compost pile. I wonder what they'll taste like.

Hi Betts - Sorry, bad pic in bad light, it's a red onion that's been on my counter for a couple weeks. There may be some sprouting garlic hanging around too.

Heh, I get that sometimes. Especially with the garlic. I've always wondered if they would grow if planted...

Hey Bob -
I've planted garlic before successfully. Wouldn't know how to get bulbs tho, I just use it for the shoots.

Haha -- my red onions sprout sometimes, too -- especially if they've been in a dark place. I cut into them and still use them if they seem fine, but have never planted one! hahaha!

Hey Kellypea! Sprouting vegetables is one of the few things I can grow successfully :)

just pop it in the ground sprout side up. In the fall for big bulbs and in the spring for small. Or maybe even in a pot in the house, haven't tried that yes.
