Typically I only summarize recipes, but you have to check out the article on the Mangalica (pronounced 'mangalitsa') pig from Hungary in this issue. They're so cute and furry! Also don't miss "Better Than Butter", a short essay on why bacon fat rules. And much more - this issue rocks!
So here's a roundup of the yummiest looking recipes from my 1st issue:
- Chicken Breasts Stuffed with Raclette, Herbs, and Prosciutto - I love me some stinky cheese, even better when there's prosciutto next to it.
- Spicy Guinness Mustard - I've been meaning to make my own mustard for a while now, this recipe may just be the clincher.
- Zuppa di Grano Cuturru (Sicilian Greens and Bulgur Soup) - because the weather has me wanting stuff like this.
- Cassoulet - Two words: Duck. Fat.

It's a great issue, isn't it? Well, that all are, but still, lol.
Hi Elle -
Agreed, and thanks again!
I let my subscription expire, but I re-upped again, mostly because I love their "100 best of" issue. I have to take notes with that one, listing all the things I want to try and places I want to go.
Hi Betts - Yup the 100 best is my favorite too, I'm so glad it was the first one I got!
Looks like some really great recipes there...so, when are you gonna start making some so we can see?!?!
Hi Darius - Life's been getting in the way lately, but I'm trying! There'll be corned beef and cabbage soon if any of my pics turn out.
